Art Workshop Testimonial:

"I have learnt a tremendous amount from attending Lyn's classes, especially in using oil paints and developing my interest in silk painting  - the weekends held at Dillington House  being a special treat!  Lyn creates a relaxed atmosphere which is conducive to learning and confidence building,

and oozes enthusiasm for whatever subject or medium is chosen."   2012  Liz

I have attended several of Lyn’s workshops, she is a very gifted artist and she has a real talent for helping people to develop their skills and unleash their creativity. One programme I really enjoyed was her two day workshop entitled ‘Fire’ which very powerfully combined art and  self development techniques. Through the use of artistic expression I developed some personally inspiring insights into the fulfilling future I wanted to create and I am now enjoying the challenge of  making that happen.

Lyn created a unique learning environment through her choice of venue, her positive supportive style and her facilitation skills, which allowed my confidence and self expression to flower. I lead a full and busy working life as a professional business coach, which means I have at times neglected my creative work, so I have really valued the workshops because they have enabled me to reconnect with my art and develop my skills.

Thank you so much, Lyn.

Lyn had arranged a day workshop for a small group of students, to be held at her studio and gardens, near Lyme Regis.

As it turned out the other students due to attend were unable to, so I had the privilege of one to one with Lyn for the day.

Having been to various workshops of Lyn’s before I knew that it would be a gentle, flowing day.

We started by discussing mediums, paper, technique and subject matter.

As it was a beautiful summer’s day and I had not done much artwork for a while, Lyn suggested that we took pencils and charcoal and just sketched in the garden for some time. This helped me to get my eye back in terms of tones, textures style and content. All of which Lyn had helpful comments towards, along with demonstrating her own style, observations and hints.

We then had a delightful break for lunch and then returned to easels in the garden for some still life watercolour and mixed media work.

We prepared some canvases in advance and then did light drawings and painted directly to canvas, with very positive effect. We had time to complete several pictures, which was very satisfying. Again Lyn offered invaluable help and advice, whilst encouraging my individual style to come through.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable day, which I look forward to repeating and to developing my art further.  On a personal level it helped to inspire me to be freer in my style and to allow myself to experiment more with colour and mixed mediums, which was very much in line with my objectives.
